Therapy Treatments

Here you will find out about all our different treatments and services we offer.

SPINAL MANIPULATION

Spinal manipulation is a very effective way of treating back pain and neck pain and improving how your spine moves if it is stiff or immobile.

Each manipulation is also known as a spinal adjustment or, simply, an adjustment and it often results in an immediately noticeable improvement.

SPINAL MOBILISATION

Spinal mobilisation gradually eases movement back into a stiff area of your spine to help relieve discomfort and tension of the surrounding muscles.

It is a similar technique to spinal manipulation and is sometimes used in conjunction with it. Both techniques have the same essential aim of making your spine move better.

JOINT MOBILISATION

The techniques used in spinal manipulation and mobilisation, that make your spine move better and relieve discomfort, can also be applied to any joint of your body.

These techniques are very effective at helping joints, such as the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, move better and feel less stiff and restricted.

GRASTON TECHNIQUE

The Graston technique is a type of manual therapy that utilizes specialized ergonomic tools that massage and scrape the skin gently.

The Graston technique uses a set of stainless steel instruments to help soft tissue injuries to the connective tissues, muscles, neurological tissues and skin. It is effective for soft tissue injuries like repetitive stress injury, strains, sprains and subluxations.

DROP TABLE TECHNIQUE

By using a special table that we have, our chiropractors are able to utilise this technique that can be used as an alternative to or in conjunction with regular manipulation of mobilisation.

Drop Table Adjustments are low amplitude mobilisations to help mobilise the joint and release pressure off the spine and pelvis.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Trigger points, correctly known as myofascial trigger points, are hyperirritable knots in muscles.

They are a palpable and painful spot that cause local pain and can also cause pain to be referred to other parts of your body.

KINESIO TAPE THERAPY

This new taping technique uses an elastic adhesive tape that supports joints and muscles without restricting range of motion, unlike conventional rigid tape.

It can be worn for several days at a time and is resilient to getting wet in the shower and sporting conditions.

MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping therapy is an ancient form ofalternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, bloodflow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

HIJAMA WET CUPPING THERAPY

Hijama is wet cupping. Hijama involves performing small incisions on specific points on the body (depending on the condition and location of pain) and placing suction cups on these areas to draw out toxic blood.

Hijama therapy is a very beneficial treatment and can assist with a wide range of health conditions. Some of these conditions include: Chronic or acute pain, Headaches, Detoxification, Arthritis, Inflammation, Digestive health, Menstrual health, Infertility, Prostate problems and hor, monal dysfunction, Insomnia and Chronic fatigue.

SPORTS MASSAGE  THERAPY

Sports massage is a type of deep tissue massage available to all clients not just sports people. Massage can be used for maintenance, injury prevention and injury treatment.

Sports massage can be beneficial in reducing muscle tension, muscular pain and discomfort. It helps increased range of motion, leading to enhanced performance as well as decreased muscle stiffness and soreness after exercise or physical activity. It can reduce recovery time post injury and increased levels of relaxation and reduction in physical and psychological stress levels, hence aiding in sleep quantity and quality.

REFLEXOLOGY THERAPY

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be very effective in encouraging deep relaxation and wellbeing

It is a touch therapy and is based on the theory that your feet are a map of your body and working through the whole bodies systems putting pressure on the corresponding reflexes can start to “wake up” the nervous system and get good energy and blood flowing through the systems of the body, encouraging improved sleep, relaxation, release of tension, improved mood and an increase in your overall wellbeing.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Deep tissue massage targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body’s surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain.
When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.

ULTRASOUND THERAPY

Ultrasound therapy is a noninvasive treatment in which sound waves are used to penetrate soft tissues, increasing blood flow. This can help relieve pain, improve circulation, and promote tissue healing. As such, ultrasound therapy is often used to treat injuries and muscle spasms, as well as chronic issues like neck or back pain.
